GTA San Andreas Second Edition Mod Patch Tut, Created by 82_Z28

Alright, heres a tutorial I wrote to allow users with the SA Second Edition to install mods such as the 69 camaro (refer to pic below)


PLEASE NOTE: IF YOUR USING A PAL VERSION, USE THIS PATCH INSTEAD (refer to tut for more details)


SIDE NOTE:
since the V1.0 game saves and V2.0 are incompatible, this patch will not work with V2.0 game saves, only v1.0. If your having game crashes, try deleteing your V2.0 game saves to start fresh.

awwww man!!! no way!!! 82z28, can u help me? i loaded up the patch, stuk in a mod r 2 folowing ur tut, n started a new game file, and then wen it started to load up the movie wen cjs at the airport the game stops n says the disc is dirty or damaged. can u help a newbie? haha id realy appreiciate it, thanks

two things I'd try.

1. On the first run, see if the game launches normally without any mods installed. (except the patch of course)


2. Make sure you deleted or moved all your 2.0 game saves

hey. my mods don't seem to work. i am trying to load a car mod. the game loads without any problem, but the car that i added doesn't appear at all. i know this because i replaced a car that originally would be found at a certain area of the game. plz tell me you heard something like this before...?

normally on a stock copy of the Second Edition when you install a mod and try to launch, it will crash on the loading screen. So the patch should be good.

What guide are you following to install this mod and what mod is it?

Can you give me a run down of the steps your taking to install it? maybe theres something you missed and we can go from there.


one more thing, if your driving around and the car you modded doesn't spawn AND the old car doesn't spawn it could be installed wrong.

A trick I typically use is I load up a stock copy of the game, put the car I want to mod into a garage and save the game. Then once modded you can go straight to it.

If the garage doesn't open it means a bad dff, txd, or data in the .dat or cfg files.
Could be a couple things but let me know the details and we can go from there

the guide i'm using is all kind of standard.
extract the mod, open img tool, back up and replace .ddf and .txd, rebuild archive, ftp back to xbox.

i just tried your trick with the garage, and the garage didn't open.

if it makes any difference, my copy of SA was extracted from a iso and ftped to xbox, rather than with dvd2xbox.

did you forget to setup the txd file?
that one is a PC mod.
